This In-house course offers insights and information about duties and responsiblities, the job profile as well as the differenciation of competencies between schools and the presidents board, university committees, programme management (teaching), human resources managment of junior researchers and administrative staff, career path models, strategic departmental planning and budgeting.
The sharing of experiences between new and former deans is a key aspect of this half day workshop. The president as well as the representatives of the vice presidents boards will be part of this exchange. The afternoon will be rounded off with a joint dinner. Attendance by invitation only.
In order to make your start into the post as smooth as possible, a dean's manual will be available on the HSG intranet from January 2021.
We are currently working on an interdisciplinary course program for Deans and Professors with specific leadership responsiblities focussing on the Swiss university landascape. The program is scheduled to be launched in autumn 2021.
